Hello there, here is the case study of a walking app I did as my project while learning at Dribbble 🏀

Role: Product Designer

My role mainly focused on user research and user interface design but I also got involved in branding and other aspects of visual design you’ll see presented here.

Problem Statement/Project brief

During my time of learning at Dribbble we discovered that dog owners sometimes need help caring for and walking their dogs. We were tasked to create a service to connect dog owners with dog walkers and also consider how we can help dog owners trust their dogs are in safe hands. So I took it upon myself to design an on-demand app that allows dog owners to hire verified dog walkers in their area. This safe and reliable app would save both time, and money and the worry of walking your dog yourself or having an unhealthy/sad dog.

Process

Research

I made use of qualitative research and created a  questionnaire to validate my idea and get user pain points and opportunities after that I carried out a competitive analysis to figure out opportunities available   and also made use of reviews from users of competing apps for the concluding part of my competitive analysis 

Project Goals

• Help dog owners easily hire dog walkers

• Help dog owners trust the dog walkers

• Help dog walkers make an extra income

I went ahead to create a persona based on my research to fit a potential user.

Prototype of the Onboarding/Sign up Screens

I designed the onboarding screens with catchy Images and informative microcopies that would help the user have a clear idea of the service the app offers. I also made the signup process more interactive by humanizing the age and weight fields.

UI Design

After several reviews and iterations here are some of the screens that made it to the end of the project based on usability feedback I got in my close group peer review session.

Prototype

Below is a prototype that shows the journey when the user views their bookings and it is empty (no bookings yet), they will be prompted to book a walk for their dog here.
