Mr. Oatley and his crow

Did a little refresh of an old character from a concert poster for a gig that my friend Chris Oatley (http://chrisoatley.com) and I did back in our younger years (11.5 years ago) of rockin'.

This ol' feller was a favorite character of mine, that I felt would be fun to rework after all these years, and to celebrate my friend Chris's birthday this week. You can see the original poster attached as well as a sketch for this new version.

Chris has since gone on to be one of the most talented and inspiring creatives I know! He not only has worked with Disney as a character designer on several films, but also launched MAGIC BOX (an online art school of sorts) that teaches/equips artists with tools, techniques and incredible industry insights from Chris's experiences, interviews and his own creative journey.
