Amigos En Poncho, Food Delivery App Design
As a part of my Google's UX design professional certificate, I designed an app for Mexican food delivery.
The product:
Hermanos En Poncho is a Mexican restaurant. They make authentic Mexican cuisine for people of all ages. They thrive to deliver quality food on promised time and an option to customize the itmes on the menu
according to the customer’s needs.
Project duration:
March 2022 to May 2022.
The problem:
Food delivery apps take longer time to deliverfood with no option to customize the item.
The goal:
Design an app that solves the users problem. App which is easy to use for people of all age groups and gives user the freedom to customize the order.
My role:
UX designer designing an app for Hermanos En Poncho from conception to delivery.
Research showed that after the pandemic people are prefereing to order food online rather going out and eat as it is more comfortable for them. But late deliveries and under performance of apps frustrates the user. It is hard for people to order online who are picky eaters.
User Pain Points:
Working adults normally have a busy schedule which makes I hard for them to cook at home.
Food ordering apps can be confusing at times for older people or people who are
not as tech savvy.
Customization is a big factor for users ordering food online, especially users with
allergies from an ingredient present in the item.
How I solved the Problems:
Used more negative space so user can understand the design better.
Used text to identify icons and their functionality.
Added map feature so user can re confirm their location.
What I learned:
While designing this app, I learned that it is a step by step process towards achieve an excellent UX for a functioning app. Its crutial to include users
during every step as it is designed for them.
