Organic Rice Packaging

For the Chinese, organic rice producer 'Tao Yuan Du' we designed a packaging that should not only be a stage for the product rice, but also for the special place 'Tao Yuan Du' where this rice is planted and the legends that surround this place.

The Chinese rice producer Tao Yuan Du is growing his rice in a legendary area. In a local story its said that a young man was dispelled from the home he shared with his brother and his brothers wife. Only giving to him was a cow.

The young man was already starving when he caught the attention of a saint. The saint carried the man and his cow to an enchanted place where peach blossoms are always in bloom: Tao Yuan Du, there the man met a beautiful fairy. They fell in love, got married and were the first to plant rice in Tao Yuan Du.

We have divided the legend into five acts. You open the large box like a stage curtain and find one scene of the legend on each of the five small rice packages. The story itself is printed above on the inside of the large box.
