Passport United Kingdom was my first Passport event as team lead and my first at Preston Royal Central Market. To prepare for the event, my team put together a comprehensive history of England, Wales, Northern Ireland, and Scotland focusing on the diverse food, culture, art, and literature from Neolithic times to the present.

We chose to focus on the look of traditional English lettering in royal colors, the flags of the U.K., and illustrations inspired by famous British artist Quentin Blake while adding personal touches. Small chalkboards, boutique merchandising, and decorative trends from the United Kingdom were utilized throughout the store.

Distinctive themes were highlighted in each department: the Information Desk was decorated to look like a traditional British library, Produce was decorated with classic English portraiture including a portrait and info sign about Sir Issac Newton in the apple run, Seafood and Meat Market were styled after Harrod's in London, Beer & Wine was made to resemble an Irish pub, Grocery department's theme was the streets of London, while Deli & Cheese had the look and feel of the Scottish Highlands.
