From a technical perspective, the Digital Wilderness collection features surrealist videos from my time exploring the National Parks circa ~2020 - 2021. I conceived of the surrealist spin while studying Adobe Premiere. Most photographers & videographers aim to capture the world in the "truest" sense, I aim to evoke an aesthetic. To capture what it feels like.... in a more subjective artistic manner. Many Kaleidoscopic videos inadvertently become overwhelmed by the effect. Skillfully applied it can interrupt your flow of reality and shift the viewer into perceptual uncertainty. My beef with surrealists is that too many of them shift into a negative-dark-unsettling spacetime. For the Digital Wilderness collection, I aimed to shift into a dreamlike-vibrant-iconoclastic spacetime. In other words, I tried to make something unique and fun.
