A note to the boy who spelt my name backwards.

after you left

i never knew how deep the hole in my cheeks got when i smiled

i couldn't figure if to swipe back the mouthwash paste into its tube or not

have dates always been bad

you sang the rays into the sun & painted the sky blue with your crooked talons that bore the insignia of our broken promises

you breezed into my home hand-picking pieces of memories & left a void

you became a question people asked

a tale they yearned for by the moonlight while lending their leaky lips & this way you never left.
