The Mountain

"The Mountain" is a multi-media project telling the story of a trapper helping a strange winged child return to her home village in the mountains. It is a 2:52 animatic consisting of 68 hand drawn frames, available for viewing on Youtube here. It took months of constant work to complete, including sketching out the baseline composition digitally, printing each sketch out, and tracing with the help of a light board onto the final textured paper with inks and markers. I think I ran through three or four Uniball white gel pens in this endeavor, as well as two whole toned paper sketchbooks.

It was originally created as my senior project for my Bachelor in Studio Arts degree, and was shown at the Creative Arts Senior Exhibition in April and May of 2022, and the physical frames and original thumb drive containing numerous digital sketches and the video displayed in the original installation were bought by the university through the Louis and Elsie Freund Young Artist Award, to be added to the university's permanent collection.
