H-eye!

Detail of one of the 6 fictional women portraits I've been working on in the past weeks. I'm using a combination of Illustrator and Photoshop.

First I draw them completely in Illustrator. Then I copy/paste (or drag from one app to the other), the illustration in different parts into Photoshop. Some of the items are placed as Shape Layers, and some as Smart Objects. Then I use different watercolor brushes to add shadows and highlights on their faces, hair, clothing etc. First time I use a Wacom tablet for production work and I love it so much!
