Character Turn - Animation

Animating character head turns is always a tricky task to do, but it becomes simpler if you organize your assets from the beginning 🗄

Once you have your trace & all your assets in vectors you may also need to think about which are going to be the elements that are going to move and separate them in groups 💭🤔

Most of the time you would like to keep all your facial elements grouped and parent those to a main controller which will help you to animate the rotation of the head. 🕹

Using masks and mattes you can also hide elements but the most important part is tweaking the small details by animating the shape layers, here is where you give the illusion of perspective and Fake 3D rotation.

If you pay attention to all those little details you will end up with a beautiful and smooth head turn! 😀👍
