Dorothy DeLong Portfolio

I pretty much fell out of my seat when Dorothy reached out to me, wanting a portfolio website so that magazines and galleries can see her work and request to use it. She is a feminist photographer traveling the country snapping images of women doing amazing stuff. Whether it's fighting for environmental regulation, standing up for those in the #MeToo movement, or protesting for pay equity, Dorothy covers all of it.

She needed her new site to entice magazines to buy her photos for publication, and help get her work shown in museums, both locally and globally.

Inspired by Dorothy's logo and work samples, a sketched and laid out a wireframe that focused the user's attention on her outstanding images. The dark UI with a bold color scheme reflects Dorothy's personality along with the choice of typography.

Creating the prototype with Adobe XD was so much fun, with this comp being my first entry as a designer.
