2D Character Case Study
Hi, world! I’d love to present the development of 2D characters for a crypto website ‘Ooki’.
Initially, a humorous and mischievous ‘cookie’ was a mascot for the ‘Ooki’ website I was guided by. Based on it, I created other characters, their mood, and simply the way I depicted them. Sofy’s help in creating some characters is much appreciated.
With my case study at Zajno, I want to show the process of developing characters for the ‘Ooki’ website. The characters’ sketching took me quite a long time. Given it’s a website dealing with crypto issues, I tried my best to instill the essence of the crypto world in these cartoon characters and make them look trustworthy to people. In other words, my aim was to dispel a fear of ‘unseen’ online currency through cartoon-looking creatures. Moreover, crypto has always been associated with humorless graphics and a hectic stock exchange, but never with something light and entertaining.
Despite the fact that many characters in this case study weren’t used in the project, I gained a hell of experience while working on them. Smooth lines, vivid character colors, and pastel background colors did the trick. Ooops, almost forgot: these cuties are drawn in Figma.
