Illustration for Lunitsa Apparel: Leshy
Graphic illustration for an apparel & accessories brand that draws inspiration from Slavic culture and mythology, on a mission to preserve this rich heritage from the sands of time.
Leszy/Лесник/Леший is the Slavic equivalent of Pan, Sylvan, and Faunus.
Leshy is a guardian of the forest, described as an old man with a long beard and antlers. He is a fairy-like creature able to shift his shape in that of the smallest blade of grass or the largest tree.
His role is to maintain the circle of life in the wild and he’s often accompanied by a bear or a wolf. It is said that Leshy preys on young and beautiful women and makes them dance around him to the music of his flute.
