Design Challenge - Direct Messaging

For this design challenge I designed a screen of a messaging app that could be used in a medical setting. The lock next to the send icon reinforces that the messages are encrypted so that patient information could (potentially) be shared over the app. The one on the left makes use of drop shadows, the one on the right does not use drop shadows.
