Hop King Nelson - 3D Render

The Hop King Nelson is a famous royal lineage from the island of New Zealand. :] Designed and rendered in Adobe Dimension, I'm so excited to get a computer capable of handling Adobe Substance. This composition consists of several parts. First the hop base mesh, the imperial robe, the jewel encrusted St. Edmund's Crown, a golden scepter, and a few "royal apples". A rich Baroque background highlights the rich flavor notes while abstracting the composition. After rendering the scene using a variety of lights, I settled on a cloudy overcast Sun light. Next, I added a 3 point light system with a backlight, a fill light, and a key light which serves to illuminate the inside of the robe.

After completing the composition & render process, I took it into PS for touch up. The hop leaves were tricky and require individual texturing using real hop leaves. The rest just needed a quick vignette and blurring.
