Lumberjacks Ace of Spades

Worked on the Ace of Spades yesterday.

Typically, the Ace of Spades is different from the three other aces in a deck because back in the olden days, you couldn't sell a deck of playing cards without showing a tax stamp that indicated that you paid a tax to sell it.

So, card makers put the tax stamp on the Ace of Spades. Later, this law was removed, but because card makers and people were so used to using / seeing the stamp, it stuck.

Nowadays, almost all decks contain a custom Ace of Spades that generally relates to the theme of the deck.

For the Lumberjacks though, I think I'm going to go with four custom aces. The Ace of Spades as you see here and the Ace of Clubs getting a similar tree design. The Ace of Hearts and Diamonds will probably be represented by forward facing logs from trees that have already been cut down.

C&C welcomed!
