I love love

From concept to completion — I began by lettering this design, then scanned it and cleaned it up in photoshop, then brought it into illustrator to vectorize it. Once the design was digitized I got it ready for print. I chose to do this design as a two color letterpress greeting card - so the next step in my process was to send it to film, process the film, and from there burn 2 polymer plates. I then chose a beautiful Blush Cotton paper by Neenah - I believe this is 110# - and cut it down from parent sheet size to A2. I knew I wanted to use my neon pink ink, and then chose a berry color for the hearts to give it more depth. The second to last step is taking it to my Heidelberg Windmill to start the printing process. I inked up the press in the neon to start, popped the plate onto the chase, and ran the text portion. I repeated this process for the hearts, and once they were all printed I set up the windmill to score the cards — and voila!
