Design process | #1. Empathize | Food Fancy Chef
Design is not about how it looks, but rather how it works. In every project we work on, we have to be empathetic, pragmatic, and collaborative to get the best user experience possible.
In the UX design process of the Foodfancy chef app, we followed the Design Thinking framework, as we generally approach every design. We prefer the Design Thinking framework because of reasons. 1. It's outlined by Tim Brown 2. the child of Standford University and 3, widely followed by industry pioneers, like Google. So, we can safely say that it's proven for a successful UX.
We followed 5 steps outline for this app:
Empathize ➡️ Define ➡️ Ideate ➡️ Prototype ➡️ Test
As empathy is the key to the UX design process, we went through the process very carefully. We followed 5 steps to feeling empathy and the steps are shown on screens # 2-6. Shot details are given below:
1. UX Research Methodology and research (screen 2):
We conducted qualitative and primary research through face-to-face interviews with 5 persons at their own places, who represent our target audiences. Every interview took 7-10 mins.
2. Making Empathy Map (Screen 3):
It’s an easily understood chart that explains everything we have learned about our type of users interviewed about cooking and delivering on-demand foods.
3. Making Personas (Screen 4)
Hence we picked 5 different persons for inclusive research, we got 5 different personas. For data privacy, we didn’t disclose their names and photos.
4. Crafting User Story (Screen 5):
A fictional one-sentence story told from our persona’s point of view to inspire and inform design decisions.
5. Mapping User Journey (Screen 6):
It's the series of experiences a user has as they interact with existing products in the market and discover where we can improve user experience.
The next steps are coming soon in upcoming shots. 😃
Please suggest to us where we can improve the process👋
✅ The idea:
Do you believe that the cooking skills are saleable? Well, we do. So we came up with an idea where the people who need homemade foods for lunch or dinner can order another "person" who will make the cooking for them.
