Concerts in the Park Sacramento 2022 Motion Poster

With the return of Sacramento's popular Concerts in the Park series in 2022 I was hired to design the poster, but I wanted to do more than a mere static poster that existed in print and jpeg form. I wanted it to be a motion poster, but more than just a poster with some moving parts I wanted this to be an announcement. Something that generated buzz and excitement and vibe. To that end, my motion poster aims to reintroduce the festival after a 2 year absence. I used sunny, balmy summer colors and a lot of elements that reference the event's setting in Cesar Chavez Plaza, most notably having the lineup materialize from a psychedelic spout of water from the park's iconic central fountain. I also added a bouncing crowd scene in front of the stage backdropped by city hall and upon the crowd surfs "Chip": the fest's long-running mascot squirrel.
