…then came Sunday
As we hit the middle of Holy Week, I thought I'd share a bit of the Easter branding we did at @southeastchrist this year.
We worked on a tag that really has seemed to mean something deeper and deeper. The thought of ...then came Sunday gives us a story transformation, a different way to life and joy. It's a decided shift in our story. But we don't just have to have the ellipse at the front. Putting it at the end allows you to continue the story and build new.
As we thought through it, we decided a simple icon set to tell the story of the cross would be a great reminder of what Sunday means. From the crown of thorns to the nail, there is death, but the king's crown shows victory over all of that.
We decided to go with vintage flowers and zoom way in on all of to make most of our color palette. As strong as I was at staying away from foliage, it worked perfectly here.
Leading up to the week, we worked with my homies with @awaken.worship for their streamed Home Sessions set that was all sorts of good. Check it on Youtube.
Finally, the week before Easter, we spoke about baptism, and decided to take all of the color out of the art and add a simple blue tone on top to represent the water cleaning us. It was also the first week we got to present our new set that reminds me more of a concert stage than anything. It's rad. Wait until you see our Easter art on it.
This week, what is your "...then came Sunday" story. Stories are important. Your story is important. Sunday is important.
Sunday's coming.
