Yemanja

Yemanjá is a major water spirit from the Yoruba religion in Africa and also ubanda and candomblé in Brasil.

"Iemanjá", name that derives from the contraction of the expression in Yoruba Yèyé omo ejá ("Mother whose children are fish") or simply Yemọjá in reference to a homonymous river worshiped in the early days of the cult of this orixá.
