Pride Bands Alliance Website Design/Build

Pride Bands Alliance is a membership organization of LGBTQ+ community concert and marching bands from cities around the world. They recently updated their name (formerly Lesbian and Gay Band Association) to be more inclusive of the entire LGBTQ+ community and with that came a major brand refresh as well. The previous website had served them well for years but it was time for an upgrade and redesign that would more closely match the new brand. The all volunteer team at PBA had already created some concept designs for how they wanted the new site to look. After collaborating with them on their thinking and approach, I applied their design strategy over the rest of the pages we needed to create and developed a new, cohesive website that was easier and more engaging to visit. The new site also celebrates the new brand and its philosophy. Along with the new site came a lot of new functionality and features. One of the great ideas the organization's leadership has was to handle the majority of images on the site with what we called the "Wizard of Oz" approach, where all of the photos were in grayscale until you rolled over them and then they magically turn to color.  We also greatly expanded the content on the site (with more to come). We integrated more videos, created an interactive timeline of the organization's history and a whole lot more. The end result was a much more extensive site that that's responsive to all devices and can grow with the organization for years to come! See the new site at: www.pridebands.org.
