Book Cover Design for CESARE, by Jerome Charyn

The challenge was to design a cover for Jerome Charyn's World War Two novel CESARE, about a seventeen-year-old German naval sub-cadet who is taken under the wing of spymaster Wilhelm Canaris, chief of the Abwehr, German military intelligence. I tried several dozen concepts, and finally settled on a Bauhaus-inspired design and color palette to convey the flavor of the period.
