Continuing our series, this illustration is a call to action – do not be silent about Mariupol!
The war is going on, occupants are withdrawing troops from Kyiv Oblast but Mariupol remains under blockade. With sinking heart, we read the stories of Ukrainian people who managed to escape the city by foot and under heavy fire just to get to a kind of safety.
There is no media to show us everything happening in the city. Words of those who escaped and rare photos from residents bring us the shreds of life people have to make there: no means of communication, no power grid or heating, and no food or water supply for more than a month. Under constant shelling and fire. This is Hell as no one of us could have imagined.
A few days after we published our illustration of Motherland Monument, the Kyiv Oblast was liberated. We can only pray that the same will happen to Mariupol and we need to continue calling for help without stop.Save Mariupol!
