Feature-promotion onboarding

Users need time to learn a new app, but that doesn’t mean that all apps require separate onboarding flows or lengthy explanations. For most mobile apps, users should be able to learn the interface by using it.

Feature-based onboarding like the one above educates users about what the app can do, and, as such, tends to be perceived as marketing. Users rarely download an app for no reason; therefore, lengthy promotional onboarding will likely be skipped. It’s good to avoid feature-promotion onboarding at first launch.

Instead of splash screens with information, you can present these types of promotional screens on the App Store, as that is where users will explore new apps and compare features.

Startups, big enterprises, and well-known agencies hire our designers on a monthly basis (retainer model). Retaining our designers allows them to easily supplement expertise from our team’s different areas of knowledge and capitalize on their diverse and deep skillsets. With a monthly retainer the time, talent, and expertise of our team are available at an affordable rate.
