Designing for Colour Blindness
It’s always important for digital environments to adopt inclusive designs. This includes designing for users who experience colour blindness.
In the video above, we show a dashboard design from the perspective of someone with protanopia (red-colour blindness). The version on the left would be visible to someone who perceives colours normally, however, this would not be accessible for someone with protanopia as shown above. The version on the right uses a custom colour palette designed specially for colour blind users.
Visual graphics should use custom colour palettes for a more accessible design that can cater to all users.
