ALTITUDO, Guarda's Gastronomy Festival

In 2021 the COVID saga went on, still being very difficult to organise any outdoor event with an audience. As we had proven the year before, we were able to set up a 'formula' to organise these kind of events and we were commissioned by Guarda's City Hall to do an ARREBITA like event in the city. But, although they wanted to link this event with ARREBITA PORTUGAL, they wanted their own branded food festival. We realised that Guarda is the highest city in the country, and we know that cooking and eating food in 'altitude' enhances the quality of the ingredients, of the flavours.

So we came up with ALTITUDO, GUARDA'S FIRST GASTRONOMY FESTIVAL. ALTITUDO is a mix of the word altitude (altitude in English) + tudo (which means everything in Portuguese).

The focus was obviously the food and the chefs. But then again, how could we communicate it boldly only on social media, that was still overcrowded for we were almost all still at home office posting kitten videos?

The colours were the key. They had to be able to drawn attention, they had to be the highlight on jam-packed feeds. We tested and loved the effect of this electric dark blue with the dazzling pink/magenta and added some elements in fluorescent green. We also wanted to emphasize the 'altitude' concept and used topographic lines.
