Sunflower Gardening - Identity Design

Sunflower Gardening was started by Neil in 2022. They provide lawncare, garden maintenance, pressure washing and other gardening services to clients in their local area of Strathaven, Lanarkshire in Scotland.

Neil knew he needed a versatile design that could be used against a backdrop of different colours. He had plans to use the new logo for staff uniform branding, vehicle branding, website, social media pages, stationary and printed marketing collateral.

I felt like the sunflower part of the business name was distinctive and should be included, so focussed my attention on developing a concept from that. I combined this with shapes to represent a lawn, which were inspired by grass elements we liked on the mood boards.

In addition to the main logo, I created an alternate word mark, which had the logo mark icon in place of the letter O in Sunflower. This would provide the business with an additional format option to use if needed, but still remain consistent with their branding.

Neil loved the logo concept when I presented it to him via a video call. We both agreed that this would work well for all of his current and possible future use cases for the logo.
