Lexus LFA
Custom piece sold as NFT. This is an illustration of legendary Lexus LFA (retro style).
Lexus LFA is a way for Toyota to explore new technologies, particularly carbon-fiber construction. Although the car is extremely expensive, Lexus says it will lose money on every one. The last car that incorporated a similar level of technology, performance, and exclusivity at that time, was the $650,000 Ferrari Enzo.
The production version of the Lexus LFA features a 553 hp V10 engine developed in collaboration with Yamaha exclusive to the car and a body made from carbon fibre-reinforced polymer (CFRP). The LFA's engineers selected a V10 engine over an equivalent displacement V8 engine for its ability to rev higher, and over a V12 for its lower reciprocating mass, allowing for more rapid engine response.
The LFA was one of the most expensive Japanese road cars ever built. Production ended in December 2012 with 500 cars produced, the final car being a NĂĽrburgring Package model.
