Party Rangers

The idea was to make a portrait of the top music scene closest to the moment, having as a common thread and connecting link, the compilation of the most iconic full-color outfits in current pop music videos (between the years 2019-2020) and frame them in the same context, with iconic, exaggerated and representative positions of each artist in said video clip.

I also wanted to value musical diversity (although all these artists would be framed within what is pop / urban) also racial, cultural, sexual and stylistic diversity. All this coexists in harmony within the same framework as I have commented previously.

The fact of putting in value the colors of the outfis and the extravagant postures led me to relate the illustration to the concept «Power Rangers» and with a nod to these, the back lettering «Party Rangers» is conformed in a traditional typeface family but currently very exploited as is the gothic family.

It was somewhat funny for me to relate the current musical elite as if it were a baroque painting exaggerating the postures and exploiting the over-acting of the characters. Apart from that it has also been a full learning in terms of a new technique of illustration, portraits, composition and anatomy 😁😜
