TMG - Guidelines

Hey folks,

Sharing the guidelines and basic components of the visual identity we did for TMG.

New visual identity

The challenge with TMG was creating a brand that manifested its unparallel levels of technical expertise to large manufacturers who are looking to build powerful commerce experiences. We did this by creating a new visual identity that relied on hard geometric shapes, a rigid grid and bulky graphics.

We started by giving TMG a new custom made wordmark with bold geometric strokes and round counter-shapes. We then gave a new spin to their purple-led colour palette by adjusting its saturation and pairing it with vibrant colours and dark backgrounds. Favorit Pro was the perfect typeface for this project as it balances geometry and quirkiness in a way that feels technical and fresh. Lastly, a series of patterns and graphics were developed to help us break the rigidity in our grid and turn the layouts into dynamic compositions. When all elements are combined, we elevated the brand with an identity that feels sturdy and modern.

The client

TMG is a full-service commerce consultancy focused on customer experiences and digital transformation. They partner with enterprise organizations to help them embrace modern digital workflows, bridge gaps across departments, and create engaging omnichannel customer experiences.

TMG was founded on the technical expertise of architects and developers in the commerce space. Their focus is in the Enterprise B2B & D2C commerce space for large manufacturers like Boeing, Dell, and Whirpool.

TMG headquarters are in Hoboken, New Jersey. However, talent knows no geographical boundaries, so they have five global locations and 100+ talented individuals forming the team.

The challenge

The TMG brand was regarded as a commerce-only implementer and focused only on a single platform. Over the past years, they have expanded into content management, customer experience, agile delivery, and digital transformation. Hence, they were looking to update their brand to draw in that expertise while focusing on their niche customers in the B2B manufacturing space.

TMG decided they needed fresh eyes from outside their organization to ask the right questions and develop a new look that supports their expanded service offering.

The solution

We successfully developed the new TMG visual identity, supported by a newly designed website. We built the website using WordPress CMS for ease of use and scalability.
