Case Study: Boost Petrol
The challenge Petron approached Boost to create an in-vehicle payment solution. Malaysian consumers are pretty well accepted this concept since Petronas launched its solution, Setel.
The solution After a few sessions of brainstorming and product review with the Petron team. We created Boost Petrol in a very lean and agile method.
We launched this pilot feature in 4 months.
The result Boost Petrol’s pilot program ended with an unfavorable result. 1) Most of the internal testers said Credit Cards payment is a much easier option. 2) Most of the cashiers said this solution is a distraction for them because of an additional device on the counter. The covid lockdown shortly after the pilot program doesn’t help either.
While we are disappointed not going ahead with an MVP after the pilot program, we are glad the team was able to validated the idea with 0 costs.
