Candle Makers Web App

Here is my Candle Makers Web App designs as part of my Google UX Design Certificate. My role in this project was as a UX Designer and Researcher. The target audience was aimed at 18 - 80 years old online shoppers.

Project Outline and Goals:

Prompt: To design a mobile-web app for a Candle Maker in Louisiana.

Research/Solution: I started by researching my target users and conducted interviews, created user personas, user journey maps and compared results from a competitive audit. I then used my research to start on paper/digital wireframes on Figma. I conducted a remote usability study at this point to ensure that the main user flow (purchasing a candle) had no issues. I then went on to HiFi Prototypes and Mock-ups that kept to a sleek and simple design. I made sure I took on user feedback to not make the homepage cluttered and navigation simple.

Goals: Moving forward I would do another round of moderated usability study, this time with users in the age range from 35-75. I feel this group would benefit from a simple design that is clean, large call to action buttons to avoid pain points, easily recognisable icons and features such as a support chat FAB as well as further testing on users who use Assistive Technology.
