These steps are very useful for you in learning the basics of guitar playing.

Play with the chords smoothly -

While there are dozens of chords, some of the most memorable songs have

been created using some of the easy-to-play open chords combinations:

C Major, D Major, G Major, E Minor

These easy to play chords have a vital role in creating very beautiful songs.

Know your instrument -

The ideal acoustic guitar strings for beginners have a gauge (or thickness) ranging from 0.11 inches for the thinnest string to.052 inches for the thickest string, especially if you're just starting out. These strings, collectively known

as "11s," are thinner and lighter. They produce less tension. Thus it can be

plucked easily.

Make the strum comfortably -

When strumming, the timing of relaxation is the most important step. It is important to hold your guitar securely, and have good posture. Relax your upper body. Next, hold your pick in your hand. After locking your fingers on the chord, lock your wrist. Try to form a straight line from your forearm. Make sure you strum with the entire forearm, not just the wrist. After locking your wrist, strum in a downward stroke.

Hold your guiter with an ease -

Whereas mostly guitars are built for right-handed players, but there are left-handed guitars. Generally guitarists play acoustic guitar in sitting posture, eliminating the need of wearing a strap to hold the guiter.

Hold the guitar with your back to your core, extend your right arm around to the front of your body, and hover your right hand directly over the strings, typically in line with the sound hole.

Your left arm will reach below and around the neck of the guitar, while your left hand will hold it up so that your fingers may go up and down the frets.

But it is very challenging to take care of these things mentioned above as a beginner. Therefore you need a guiter instructor like Billy who can guide in execution of all these steps.
