The Optimist magazine - September 2021

The Optimist is a journal for PhD students by PhD students. We bring out a new edition every four months discussing a whole range of topics such as how to deal with publication pressure and tips on how to live a happy PhD.

The September 2021 issue was about a long time enemy of productivity: procrastination. This one does not require much explanation, I looked around and guessed what things in my surroundings could potentially make me lose my focus. Some of those elements are depicted on the cover. On the other hand, this cover gives the perspective of the person that is struggling with procrastination, including some key elements, such as the post-it notes and the keyboard, that keep reminding them to exit the unproductiveness loop.
