Gender Inclusive Surveys

Hey everyone!

I recently worked on an AI-based product that required information about a user's biological sex. Our goal was to offer users an accurate outcome when using the product, while also creating an inclusive experience. 

When designing our initial screening we asked ourselves, What data is most necessary? Why do we need the data? How will it be used and how will it be protected?

Our algorithm needed a user's sex to produce accurate results. This was the most essential data point we needed. A user's sex can be defined as the biological condition of being male or female, as stated on a person’s birth certificate.

This was our frist design. We also included an explaination about why we were gathering the data.
