Glucabear Product & Package Design

Glucabear travel tubes are an easily recycled, portable, easy-to-open way to get the emergency glucose your child needs. The bright colours and flavour patterns allow for easily distinguished and recognizable flavours. The sticker on top act as protection for tampering, as well as adding to the “hand-packaged with care” aspect to the brand. Type is rounded and friendly, and the serif invokes a similar feeling to that of children’s alphabet blocks. The hexagonal shape is that of a honeycomb, while also following the same angles that your hand makes when you wrap them around it, adding extra grip. The glossy strip with information contrasts against the matte tube, and aids in grip as well as it has a slight “tacky” feeling. The beeswax lining on the inside prevents the gummy glucose from sticking to the package. Glucabear fills a hole in the market by providing child-focused diabetic tools and glucose. This project was for my degree.
