PeduliLindungi Safe Entrance now available on OVO app

Background

PeduliLindungi is an official application developed by Indonesia's Ministry of Communication and Information Technology as an initiative to reduce the severity of Covid-19 spread.

This application stores users latest PCR results by and vaccination statuses by NIK or passport number, that would then allow them to mindfully check-in and out of establishments.

Mandate

The Indonesian government issued a mandate to help the handling of contact tracing by asking all of top downloaded Apps in Indonesia (hence, OVO) to also integrate with PeduliLindungi's functionality.

The ministry had made the API public for the top apps to easily integrate.

Strategic Opportunities

• Due to only being launched fairly recently, its end to end experiences still have its flaws. As reviewed in the App Stores & Play Store.

• A recovery initiative that can help our offline payment stream that inevitably dented when the pandemic hit.
