Rensselaer Rams

I was recently asked to modernize the logo/mascot used for the football program of my home town; the Rensselaer Rams. Rensselaer, NY is full of history. Originally settled by the Dutch in 1609 and later the British in the 1700s. It was at the epicenter of the Revolutionary War. “Yankee Doodle” was written in Rensselaer by a British Army Surgeon in 1755 originally as a way to mock the American colonists. A Yankee was a derogatory term that’s now fully embraced by New Yorkers with pride. I leaned into that history to reinvent the Ram with pride, courage and meaning for the athletes and students.
