Hot Finn Shot
Over the weekend I drew a lottt of stuff that came out very bad while experimenting with a lot of techniques
I had another one of those little self-initiated fits of worrying about style. Is my 'style' dynamic enough to rise to serious occasions, can I draw something badass, can i draw something cute, etc
I tried making stuff with different workflows, inking in photoshop, sketching with giant markers instead of pens, etc mimicking others' processes closely.
What I've concluded is that if something is comfy for you and you like the way it comes out and are enjoying the process then there's no real need to change it up ONLY for the sake of changing it up.
My issue is still around but I think it always will be.
Another bit I've taken away is that stylistically you should have a strong enough foundation where you can adjust to fit the mood and tell the story properly with people seeing it and still saying 'oh thats done by kirk'
Anyway here's one of the little illustrations that I had fun with over the weekend. Finn in weird colored clothes. Looks hot out there too! I wasn't obsessing too much over form and content here so much as again, process and the stylism.
