SMR "Sapere Aude" Monogram

Sapere Aude - Latin; "Dare to Know"

A blend of modern and classical, this regal black and gold monogram inspires an everlasting thirst for knowledge and self-improvement. The phrase "Sapere Aude" was originally used by the Roman poet Horace in his first book of Epistles and comes from the verse "He who has begun is half done: dare to know, dare to begin!"

This monogram was designed as a gift for a graduating Arts major with symbols of theatre and song.

2014, Black and gold metallic ink, 8x10" on 9x12" Bristol.
