SNOW PRINCESS

The prince was looking for a wife.

He sent out his messengers to find a suitable bride.

Outside in the big city, there were so many beautiful young ladies and all hoped to become a princess.

When they heard the news, there were queues out for miles waiting to be interviewed.

The prince was told by his messengers who the best people were and so the prince sent out a royal invitation to a big ball.

All the lovely ladies were excited. They wanted to impress the prince. They all wanted to marry him so they could live in luxury.

The time of the big event arrived. All the fancy ladies turned up in chauffeur limousines.

They were going to have a splendid time.

One young lady wept at home.

Suddenly, there was a sprinkling of fairy dust and a dazzling light in the young lady's room. She blinked and blinked again.

“Who are you! What are you doing?”

“I am Freddie, Fairy Frog Queen, your godmother. Freddie for short. Why are you weeping?”

“I wanted to go to the ball but I am poor and I do not have any lovely clothes.”

“Hmm. Well, we shall see what we can do. The Spiders say they will weave you a most beautiful silken dress. The Bees will show you how to dance. And you can have ice crystal glass slippers so that you can waltz with the prince and show your love for him.”

In a twinkling of an eye, the young lady saw herself in the mirror. She was glamorous. Her hair and make-up was just so, and her dress was the most beautiful she had ever seen.

The ice crystal glass slippers were the best of all.

She thanked Freddie and the Bees and Spiders for all their help and kindness.

Freddie waved her magic wand again. The young lady was now in a gleaming coach, driven by Robin Redbreast, and pulled by Geese flying through the air. The Bees guided them over to the prince’s palace.

The young lady trilled,

“I love this! It is like being in Father Christmas’s sleigh with the reindeer flying round the world.”

Almost immediately, they landed in the palace grounds where there was a helipad.

The Bees and Robin Redbreast helped the young lady out of the coach.

The people in the palace were amazed to see this. They told the prince to come out and see the young princess for that is what they thought she was.

The prince and the young lady immediately fell head over heels in love with one another.

They danced all night.

They kissed and sealed their love.

The prince decided he now knew his destiny. This was the most beautiful and charismatic lady he had been dreaming of and now he had the key to her heart too.

And she returned this love.

At the stroke of midnight, the young lady heard the booming chimes.

BONG BONG BONG BONG

She remembered what Freddie had warned her. She had to leave the palace immediately.

She ran out of the palace in such a hurry that she lost her footing and her glass slipper fell off but she could hear the striking clock and had to get away.

But when she looked for her coach nothing was there.

She looked down at her beautiful gown but instead it was a raggedy dress.

Then all of a sudden, Freddie appeared in a hot air balloon and sailed down onto the palace grounds where the young lady stood.

“Come on in, jump to it!

We are off now to see the Giant who will help us to stamp out misery in the land.

The young lady was amazed to see Jack on his beanstalk and the Goose that lays the Golden Egg outside the Giant’s castle.

She heard the Giant calling,

“Fee, fie, fo, fum”.

The Giant opened his front door. The castle was full of golden eggs.

There was enough gold to give everyone a good life without worry. People would be so happy with enough to eat, beautiful clothes, good houses and clean water. There would be no more poverty.

The friendly Giant asked the young lady what she wished for. She whispered in his ear.

The Giant thought long and hard.

“Hmm.

Well, it is most unusual.

People usually want to have a mansion or world cruise but you have not asked for any of that. Instead you want to help OTHER people.

You have shown your love for other people as you had the chance to be wealthy or to marry the prince but you asked for help for others.”

Suddenly there was a sound of bells.

Jingle, jingle, jingle.

A man with a white beard and red coat appeared.

“HO! HO! HO!” he chortled.

It was Father Christmas.

The young lady was astonished.

The friendly Giant said,

“This is my best friend. When there are selfish people who are unkind then they  fear me.

But when people are pure of heart then Father Christmas comes to town and everyone is helped.

You have shown how kind you are. You wanted to be a princess but you were poor and unable to dress to impress.”

The Giant smiled kindly.

The Giant took Freddie’s hand and told the young lady,

“Your fairy frog godmother is a good friend of mine.

Together, we will all create a world of harmony. Give peace a chance.”

Magic happens if you dream on a star and make a wish.

The prince and his true love married and so the young lady became a princess of hearts.

They were blessed with a happy family.

Their children loved playing with Freddie the Frog, Fairy Godmother, the Bees, the Spiders, the Geese, the Goose that lays the Golden Egg, Robin Redbreast, Jack and the Beanstalk and the Giant and Father Christmas.

The children enjoyed hearing all their stories but best of all the World was at peace and everyone was happy and content.

They all lived happily ever after.
