Hyperlapse from Instagram

Hyperlapse from Instagram allows you to make super-smooth hand-held time-lapse videos. Through a combination of custom in-house built stabilization technology and speed controls, you can now make beautiful hyperlapse content which was previously reserved for bulky and expensive video rigs. It's an incredibly simple app, but the results you can get from it can be stunning.

The app was designed & built over the course of a few months on nights & weekends, since we loved the technology and what you can do with it. The app is designed to be lightweight & fun, but also get out of your way when you're somewhere amazing and want to record a Hyperlapse.

It's largely composed of three screens. Recording, reviewing (with speed adjustment), and sharing. If you want to record multiple Hyperlapses without sharing, you can also queue them up for editing later. The app allows you to quickly bounce this video content to both Instagram or Facebook, and uncropped HD versions are also saved out to your phone's camera roll.
