Practice: Custom Hand Lettering

Sturday Type Club #004:

Sturday Type Club #004:As I've been pivoting towards becoming a better artist, designer, and typographer, I've really begun to realize you can’t replace good 'ole fashion practice.

No hate, in fact I love a good course, but you can't Skillshare your way out of practice, and you can't read your way to the top of the line.If you want to make dope work, you have to make a ton of work.

I find myself really believing that quantity leads to quality, at least when you're trying to make some dummy sick type.

I still have a lot of practice ahead of me, and a lot of work to make. But I like how this lil type bro turned out.

There are a lot of technical skills to learn with typography, like color, spacing, and weight but it seems that the best skill to develop is your eye for a good piece of work. Which is unfortunate for me, because I’m impatient, and the way you develop a good eye is with time and practice.
