Daily UX Writing Challenge - 1

Thought Process:

A notice of a cancelled flight while the passenger is at the airport implies last minute cancellation which is likely to set the passenger into panic mode. Irrespective of the call to action button in the push notification, an average passenger would want to get confirmation from the airline staff at the airport to find out what their rebooking, refund, compensation or accommodation options are.

It is important they know that they are welcome to speak to a staff. The rebook option also serves as an alternative for passengers who would rather handle the booking themselves, and passengers who are not available at the airport for whatever reasons.

Background

I recently took up the UXWC #UXWriting Challenge to improve my skill sets. In this solo project, a prompt was sent to email daily for 15 days. My approach on arriving at solutions stems from my experience as a user of similar applications, and inspiration from mobile applications which are doing a terrific job at microcopy.

I particularly found the character limitation interesting as it stretched my ability to write concise copy. While I primarily identify as a UX Writer with backgrounds in copywriting and social media marketing, this challenge also gave me an opportunity to put my budding design skills into practice.
