Usually hummingbirds aren't shown from a top-down view, which was part of the reason for interest in this pose. The AZTECS believed that warriors who fell in battle would return as HUMMINGBIRDS, to serve as messengers to the spirit world. This restaurant is inspired by a family patriarch who actually died in battle & his family has it's roots in AZTEC culture, so the hummingbird became a perfect symbol.
