Keep Killing it
Today I shared something with one of my friends - something that's been frustrating me for a while. I told her, every so often I would speak to someone, a customer, an old colleague, or just someone who I've met at work, and they would make a judgemental comment such as
'oh, you're still here',
'ha thought you'd have moved from this city' or (my personal favourite)
'so, when are you gonna get a real job then?'.
I'd get annoyed and make an excuse, feel uncomfortable that I've not proven myself to them even tho I work harder than anyone else.
My friend looked me in the eye and said,
Hey. You should never feel like you have to prove to someone that you work hard. People only make comments like this to make themselves feel better about their lives.
This made me think.. People will always judge you and try to get you down, so just smile,
ignore them
and keep killing it.
