The Butterfly Effect

The butterfly effect is the idea that something small and seemingly insignificant can cause disproportionate change when applied to a complex system over time. Such as the flap of a butterfly's wing being the cause for a typhoon, weeks later, on the other side of the world. Or in this case how one small, ingenious technological advancement has the power to reverberate through the ages, advancing society by spurring an explosion of creativity, innovation, and exploration.
