Hypercolorism - Alaskan Tidal Spit

This wispy tidal spit is near Glacier Bay, Alaska. During my time there I had the opportunity to explore and flying my drone over I spotted this spit stretching out into the bay. I decided to give it the Hypercolorism treatment. I started by prepping the image and taking the photo back to a neutral look, then I dived deep into the the curves inside Camera Raw. I focus on adjusting tonal ranges, instead of just moving the contrast sliders around. Then I color graded the image and color mixed it. I don't typically start with a specific color range in mind, rather I try to play off the colors and tones present in the image. Lastly, I used the camera calibration sliders to amp the colors into "surreal" territory. Lastly, I blurred the ocean slightly to focus the eye on the spit.
