Apple iPhoto Cork Board Texture (2012)

For the retina version of iPhoto I created a brand new cork board texture for the background of the Faces feature. I spent a day going around to office supply stores buying samples of cork board. I decided on a finer grain cork board because it had a softer appearance and worked better in the background.

The final image is a composite of photographs, custom textures, special effects, and touch ups. I've brightened it here for presentation.
